NSCMID aims at strengthening the bonds between clinicians and researchers in clinical microbiology and infectious diseases. The Nordic countries take the antibiotic resistance problem seriously and have remarkably low rates of antibiotic resistance. The low antibiotic resistance rate is not the sole thing we have in common. Nordic countries have universal availability of healthcare, a similar spectrum and prevalence of infections, and a strong research tradition. 

We believe this common ground can be exploited to empower research and the care of patients. NSCMID initiates and supports activities such as research projects, clinical collaborations, and the establishment of working groups. Explore our grant and working group options to learn more.
